| Grey Iron Castings: |
Grey iron castings are manufactured by Toowoomba
Metal Technologies in accordance with AS1830 to
both tensile and hardness specifications. Tensile
grades for general engineering purposes are T180
MPa, T220, T260, T300, T350 and T400 (12 to 26 tons/sq.in.).
Where hardness, microstructure and machinability
are important, H187, H229, H241 and H269 hardness
grades are available. In addition, special grades
of grey iron are manufactured to International standards
such as JAE, DIN, ASTM etc. and if required, to
your own specification. |
| S.G. (Ductile) Iron:
|
Ferritic and Pearlitic grades of Spheroidal graphite
(S.G.) Iron Castings are produced to conform to
the various International Standards.
Grades of S.G. Iron produced include 800-2, 700-2,
600-3, 500-7, 400-12 and 370-17.
Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI) castings
are produced to conform to five ASTM standard
grades (ASTM 897M-90) ranging from 850MPa with
~300BHN to 1600MPa with ~500BHN.
A special grade of S.G. Iron castings heat treated
by the austempering process give substantially
improved strength, hardness and wear resistance.
Tensile strength of 1400 MPa (90 ton/sq.in.) and
hardness of 40 Rockwell C are obtained at 2% elongation.
Toowoomba Metal Technologies is producing very
successful castings in this material.
