Moulding
Toowoomba Metal Technologies primary moulding facility
comprises a Georg Fischer air impact automatic moulding
line, and auxiliary equipment. The moulding line was
commissioned in 1987 by the Swiss manufacturer and renouned
foundry technology company, Georg Fischer.
Able to produce 120 moulds per hour
this line provides customers with the security of knowing
that volume requirements will be readily met.
In addition to the
main line, our moulding facility incorporates an automatic
pattern changing unit with sand supplied by a Georg
Fischer STM30 high intensity sand mixer, and three cooling
lanes provide castings with a controlled rate of cooling.
The outside moulding
box dimensions are 890mm x 660mm x 300/300mm. However,
the suggested usable dimensions are smaller then this
size. We would be pleased to discuss your product's
dimensions to determine if it is appropriate for the
moulding box.
Mould shakeout is performed in an inhouse designed tubular
rotary mould cooler. Return sand has the metallics separated,
lumps disintegrated in a Georg Fischer disintegrator
and is cooled in a Kuttner fluidized bed cooler.

While we have a secondary moulding machine available,
consisting of an Osbourne 730 AR moulding machine, box
size 1230mm x 915mm x 380/380mm.
