Heat Treatment

A heat treatment facility is available for stress relieving and general heat treatment of castings.

One engineering single bogie hearth furnace with natural gas fired exothermic generator is also available. Maximum treatment temperatures of 1000º Celsius is possible in both furnaces.

Rigid control of the atmosphere ensures scale free castings.

Painting/Powder Coating

A number of finishes are available to our customers, depending on the end use of the component. The three most commonly used finishes include:

• Painting
• Powder Coating
• Rust Preventative Coating

We have a number of painting facilities from a basic in-line spray system to ensure a quick and cheap finish, to a fully environmentally controlled spray painting facility to provide customers with superior paint finishes.

We also have available an in-house powder coating facility that can coat castings with water potable material, using a temperature and time controlled emersion processes.

If castings are to undergo further operations once leaving Toowoomba Metal Technologies, and there may be a delay, rust preventative coating can be applied to prevent corrosion during transit.
